'The Indian and the White Guy' headed to North Dakota after all

The
Williams and Ree comedy duo, otherwise known as “the Indian and the White Guy," are going to play in Grand Forks, North Dakota, after all.
The duo tried to book a show at the Alerus Center but the gig fell through even after they agreed not to use the word "Indian" during their performance.
The
Empire Arts Center stepped in and offered Terry Ree, who is Sioux, and the White Guy two gigs on March 15.
"We saw just how much the community wanted to see the show, so we jumped at the opportunity to bring them to the Empire," Cathy Foy, Empire Arts Center Executive Director, said on
Facebook.
The initial request not to use the word "Indian" was apparently due to controversy over the "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo at the
University of North Dakota.
