Southern Ute Tribe schedules election of new chairman in April

The
Southern Ute Tribe
of Colorado will elect a new chairman at a special election in April.
Matthew Box resigned last week under pressure. Jimmy Newton will serve as acting chairman until the election.
Executive Officer Johnny Valdez and co-executive officer Andrew Frost also resigned. The tribe has named Melvin J. Baker as acting executive officer.
