Northern Cheyenne woman a finalist for national Sullivan Award

Tahnee Robinson, a member of the
Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana, has been named one of five finalists for the prestigious
Sullivan Award by the Amateur Athletic Union.
Robinson is a senior at the
University of Nevada Reno. She's the captain of the women's basketball team, where she was named WAC Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-WAC last season.
The Sullivan Award could be her latest accolade. The award will be presented next Monday, March 14, in New York City.
"She's not a prima donna. That's why people love her so much. She's humble, she's blue collar," coach Jane Albright told The Reno Gazette-Journal. "She's like, if you shoot, I'll get your rebound. I'll do anything to help my team win. It's never about Tahnee Robinson, it's about Nevada."
Robinson, who hopes to play in the
WNBA, grew up on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.
