Double homicide of Pinoleville Pomo men unsolved after 6 years

Authorities are still looking for clues in the double homicide of a father and son from the
Pinoleville Pomo Nation of
California.
Charles "Buzzy" Mitchell, then 66, and Nolan Mitchell, then 34, were killed in the late hours of October 31, 2004, or sometime early the next day.
Mitchell was killed outside of his home while his son was shot inside while he was sleeping.
"They were definitely targeted," Capt. Kurt Smallcomb of the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office told The Ukiah Daily Journal.
Leads have been far and few, indicating the perpetrators may have come from outside the area. "In a small community you'd think we would have heard something," Smallcomb told the paper.
Charles Mitchell was serving on the tribal council at the time of his death.
