United Tribes Technical College measures impact on economy

The
United Tribes Technical College had a $31.8 million impact on the economy in Bismarck, North Dakota, last year, according to a new study.
With nearly 1,800 students, the school attracts a large number of federal grants. Combined with wages, local spending, student spending and its annual powwow, UTTC's impact is growing.
"This is a substantial amount of economic activity coming from one organization," President David M. Gipp, United Tribes said in a
press release. "It underscores the significance of our role in the community and emphasizes our value as an input in the Bismarck-Mandan economy."
The four-day powwow alone had an impact of nearly $4.7 million last year, according to the study.
