Morongo Band woman enjoyed meeting with Obama at White House

Marigold Linton, a member of the
Morongo Band of Mission
Indians in California, met
President Barack Obama last week to collect her Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring.
Linton met Obama in the Oval Office and took photos with him. She quizzed him on the art -- he didn't know the artist of a painting of George Washington -- and commented on the size of the room, The Lawrence Journal World reported.
“The Oval Office may be small,” she told Obama, the paper reported. “But you, sir, are larger than life.”
Linton received the award for her efforts to encourage more American Indians to enter the science field.
