A 16-year-old girl was badly burned in a house fire on the
Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation in Manitoba.
Alandice Benjoe suffered burns across 70 percent of her body, CBC News reported. Her mother, Daphne Benjoe, 41, did not survive the fire.
Earlier this month, a two-month-old girl died in a house fire on the St. Theresa Point Reserve in Manitoba. Fires on reserves in the province have claimed at least 11 children in the last five years.
