The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, has hired 700 people to work at its new casino.

The $157 million Gun Lake Casino opened to the public a week ago today. Employees have been greeted by large crowds.

“I’ve got a lot of positive energy,” Kimberly Brehmer, a supervisor at the casino’s rewards center, told The Allegan County News. “So do a lot of other people working here. We’re excited. We want to it be better than everywhere else.”

Over 8,000 people applied for jobs at the facility.
