Connecticut tribes took hit in slot machine revenue in January

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes took a big hit in their slot machine revenues in January 2011.

Compared to a year earlier, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw a 5.9 percent drop in its win and a 4.7 percent drop in its handle. The Mohegan Tribe saw a 11.8 percent drop in win and a 10 percent drop in handle.

Gaming executives attributed the decline to the brutal winter weather.
