Fredrick Cerrato
Mr. Cerrato, 61, of Matawan, died Feb. 24, 2007, at home. Born in New York City,
he resided there prior to relocating to Matawan 35 years ago. He was a police officer at the
U.S. Depart of Defense, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Army during the
Vietnam War. He is survived by a brother, Rocco Cerrato of Old Bridge; and several nieces and
nephews. Visitation will be March 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Philip A. Colacino
Mr. Colacino, 22, of Middletown, died March 2, 2007, at home. Born in Brooklyn,
N.Y., he resided in Staten Island, N.Y., prior to relocating to Middletown 10 years ago. He was
employed in back office operations at Janney, Montgomery & Scott, New York City. He was an
avid fan of the Mets, Jets and Devils, and a movie buff. He is survived by his parents, Anthony
and Theresa Colacino; a sister, Connie Colacino of Middletown; a brother, Anthony Colacino Jr.
of Middletown; his paternal grandparents, Philip and Rose Colacino of Brooklyn, N.Y; his
maternal grandparents, Genaro and Candida Espino of Miami; and several aunts, uncle and
cousins. A funeral service will be March 7 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic
Church, North Middletown. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements

Frank W. Gaeta
Mr. Gaeta, 77, of Hazlet, died March 3, 2007. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he
relocated to Hazlet in 1962. He was a truck driver at City Stone, Hazlet, for 14 years,
retiring in 2001. He served with the U.S. Military as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was
predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Nettie Petrazullo Gaeta in 1997; a sister, Rosette
Annastosia; two brothers, William and Peter Gaeta; and a granddaughter, Carlee Wines. He is
survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Leo Armenti of Middletown, Nettie and
Charles Emslie of Hazlet, and Donna and Steven Wines, and Karen and David Kiley, all of Brick;
a son and daughter-in-law, John and Marlene Gaeta of Union Beach; three sisters and one
brother-in-law, Linda Gaeta and Kember Korte, Millie Pontone and Collete Murphy; a brother-in-
law, Gerry Annastosia; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be March
7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service
will be March 8 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at
St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery,
Keyport.
Anne B. Stolarz
Mrs. Stolarz, 82, of Atlantic Highlands, died Feb. 20, 2007, at Riverview Medical
Center, Red Bank. Born in Atlantic Highlands, she resided there most of her life. She was a
retired office assistant at the IRS, Newark, for several years. Prior to that, she was employed
at Dilly Manufacturing, South Plainfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Stolarz; a
son, Stanley Stolarz; a brother, Rocco Champi; and four sisters, Della, Angelina, Raffie and
Eunice Champi. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Stolarz of Long Branch; two sons, Douglas
Stolarz of Jersey City, and Jeffery Stolarz of Netcong; two sisters, Mildred Lyons of
Middletown, and Ida Schilk of Mercerville; a daughter-in-law, Alice Stolarz of Hopatcong; and
two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church,
Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F.

Joseph E. Mulkerin
Mr. Mulkerin, 71, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 21, 2007, at home. Born in Elizabeth,
he resided in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, prior to relocating to Old Bridge. He was a
chemical operator at International Flavors and Fragrances, Union Beach, for 25 years. He served
with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars (VFW) Guadalcanal Post No. 4745, Aberdeen; past District Commander of VFW District 6; and
vice president of the 101st Airborne Association, Gen. Anthony C. McAuliffe Chapter. He was
predeceased by a sister, Veronica DeCastro. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smittle
Mulkerin; two daughters and one son-in-law, Eileen Borruso of the Cliffwood Beach section of
Old Bridge, and Michele and John Egan of Morgan; four stepdaughters, Donna Allen of
Pennsylvania, Debra McKenzie of Georgia, and Eva Ramos and Connie Swingle, both of North
Carolina; a stepson, David Allen of New Jersey; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia
Mulkerin of Edison; a sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and William Merritt of Elizabeth; 13
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans
Cemetery, Arnytown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Margaret C. Rainaud
Mrs. Rainaud, 76, of Manalapan, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was born in Cheesequake and had resided in Manalapan for the past 34 years. Prior to becoming a homemaker, she worked for the Wellin Davit & Boat Corp. of Perth Amboy for four years, as well as for the family business, the Rainaud Nursery and Garden Center. She is survived by her husband, William J. Rainaud Sr., and a son, William J. Jr. of Middletown. A graveside service was held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan, with Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, in charge of arrangements.
Helen Georgette Wroblewski
Mrs. Wroblewski, 78, of Middletown, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Long Island, N.Y., and New Providence, prior to relocating to Middletown in 1998. She was a hostess at Welcome Wagon, New Providence, for 15 years, retiring in 1998. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Leo The Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. She is survived by her husband, Conrad Wroblewski; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Ken Sullivan of Middletown; and two granddaughters. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Leo's Church. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Grace M. Mercurio Pangia
Mrs. Pangia, 93, of Keyport, died Feb. 23, 2007, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Italy, she resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to relocating to Keyport 13 years ago. She was a retired school crossing guard in Flatbush, Brooklyn, where she was employed 15 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Cleto A. Pangia; 10 siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Mitzi Pangia. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Eda M. and John Gilligan of Hazlet; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Pangia of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Joseph J. and Aileen Pangia of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Paul E. Glines
Mr. Glines, 71, of Matawan, died March 1, 2007, in Keyport. Born in Manchester, N.H., he resided in San Francisco, Aberdeen, Washington, and New Haven, Conn., prior to relocating to Matawan 11 years ago. He was a retired photographer at Score Sports Cards, Conn. Prior to that, he was a photographer at the San Francisco Examiner, and Manchester Union Leader. He is survived by his wife, Sara Winning Glines of Matawan. A memorial gathering was held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Melanie L. Deus
Mrs. Deus, 35, of Jackson, died Feb. 26, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Edison, she resided in Middletown prior to relocating to Jackson seven years ago. She was a zookeeper at Popcorn Park Zoo, Lacey, for 13 years. She is survived by her husband, John Deus; her parents Kelley and Joyce Brennan of Middletown; and her maternal grandmother, Anne Holt of Trenton. Arrangements were by John F. Michael Motichka
Mr. Motichka, 89, of Matawan, died Feb. 24, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Keansburg for 48 years prior to relocating to Matawan. He was employed at the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, Eatontown, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, he served on the Keansburg Municipal Authority, and Keansburg Board of Education, and was the temporary Keansburg Borough Clerk. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharlene in 1993; a brother, Steven in 2000; and a sister, Anna Mills in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine; and a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pamela Motichka of Naples, Fla. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Ryan Patrick Moynahan
Mr. Moynahan, 25, of Hazlet, died Feb. 24, 2007. He was born in Plainfield. He was a sprinkler system installer at Sprinkler Master, Middletown. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, and attended Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was active in Hazlet Youth Athletic League, playing baseball, football and basketball. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Edmund Joseph Smyth in 2002; and his great-grandmother, Margaret Moynahan. He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Barbara Smyth Moynahan; two sisters, Meghan of East Lansing, Mich., and Lyndsey of Hazlet; a brother, Sean of East Lansing; his maternal grandmother, Helen Downs Smyth of Fanwood; his paternal grandparents, John Patrick and Constance Culver Moynahan of Lansing, Mich.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Francis P. Sweeney Sr.
Mr. Sweeney, 73, of Hazlet, died Feb. 25, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y. He was employed at Equitable Life, New York City, for more than 35 years, retiring in 1990. He served with the New York National Guard from 1954-56, and the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Raymond; and a sister, Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eileen McPartlin Sweeney Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and John Hickey of Marlboro; two sons, Francis and Michael; four sisters, Helen, Veronica, Loretta and Patricia; and six grandchildren. Mabel P. Crook
Mrs. Crook, 88, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died Feb. 26, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Irvington, she resided in Elizabeth, Holmdel and the Shadow Lake section of Middletown prior to relocating to Lincroft five years ago. She co-owned with her husband Crook Insurance Agency, Holmdel, several years ago. Prior to that, she was employed at Prudential Insurance Co., Newark. She was a member of Holmdel Community Church, and United Church of Christ, Holmdel. She was a former volunteer at Shadow Lake Village library. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and board games. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark in 1987; a brother, Adrien R. Dazin; and a great-grandchild, Trez Baker. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark G. and Ruth Crook Jr. of Missouri, Russell L. and Donna Crook of Shrewsbury, and Roger L. and Susan Crook of Yardley, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie Crook Logan and Robert Logan of Middletown; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Helen C. Brozio Pokallus
Mrs. Pokallus, 94, of Rocky Hill, Conn., and formerly Matawan, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, Conn. Born in New York City, she resided in Matawan 30 years, prior to relocating to Rocky Hill 19 years ago. She was a telephone operator and manager at NJ Bell Telephone for 37 years, retiring in 1976. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a founding member of Matawan Mineralogical Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman R. Pokallus in 1987. She is survived by two sons, Reginald Pokallus of Hillsborough, and Richard Pokallus of Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter, Diane Soderstrom of Rocky Hill, Conn.; a sister, Gladys Surko of Whiting; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Dorothy Brozio of Massapequa Park, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be March 2 from 9:15-10:30 a.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, followed by entombment at the church's mausoleum.
John B. Fahy
Mr. Fahy, 81, of Oceanport, died Feb. 24, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Huntington, N.Y., he resided in Little Silver prior to relocating to Oceanport. He was vice president at Collegiate Cap and Gown Company where he was employed 40 years, retiring in 1996. He also was the builder, owner and proprietor of an area hotel and restaurant. He graduated the Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y., and served as a merchant seaman in the North Atlantic and North Sea during World War II. He continued working at sea, and was one of the youngest First Mates on commercial ocean liners. He was an avid sailor and horseman. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Adeline Fahy; and two sisters, Margaret Fahy and Florence Goldsmith. He is survived by a sister, Maude Fahy of Red Bank; two sons, Peter Fahy and John Brooks Fahy, both of Oregon; three daughters, Margaret Annarella of the Locust section of Middletown, Jeannie Hartnett of Brielle, and Kathryn Grobben of Red Bank; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be March 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, with a funeral service at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be March 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
